The Association's Structure

The Swiss Sustainable Coffee Platform is a multi-stakeholder initiative organised as a non-profit association. Solutions are developed through a participatory process, with key decisions made by members during the General Assembly.

Founded in November 2024 to advance sustainability in the coffee value chain, the association represents the stakeholders in the Swiss coffee sector. The Platform is structured into the member categories private sector, non-profit organisations and research, along with associated members.

Category A: Private sector i.) green coffee traders ii.) roasters & processors iii.) retailer, gastronomy & coffeeshops iv.) coffee-related businesses (e.g. producers and sellers of coffee related equipment)

Category B: Non-profit organisations, including consumer, labelling and standard-setting organisations;

Category C: Universities, research and applied science institutes

Associated members: Sector associations and service providers (non-voting)

The day-to-day operations are managed by the Coordination Office, while the Board, composed of an independent president and representatives from the member categories, is responsible for the strategic management of the association.

The General Assembly, held annually, serves as the primary decision-making forum, where elections are conducted, experiences are shared, and the latest insights on key topics are discussed. It also provides an excellent platform for networking within the coffee community.
